Domaine Vincent Stoeffler

Vincent Stoeffler runs this family estate in the Bas-Rhin near Strasbourg. His goal is that his wines express the terroir from which it sprung. They produce almost 40 different wines, fermenting slowly in oak foeders, and the terroir shines in each. They also produce some incredible sparkling crémants, the Blanc de Blancs has become a Rocket staff favourite.

Vincent Stoeffler took over the family winery in 1986 and completed conversion to certified organic in 2000. A short skip away from the Rhine river dividing Germany and France, and only about a 25 minute drive from Strasbourg, Stoeffler grapes come from two main areas; Barr and in Ribeauvillé each location has 3 different parcels in each, meaning the various wines reflect the variety of terroir.

They tend over 16 hectares of wine but every grape is still picked manually, and in 2009 they began working biodynamically. The soils range from clay-limestone, marl-limestone, to covered siliceous gravel, clay-marl and gneiss, depending upon the vineyard.
